This course will teach you about the pedagogical theorists behind child-led learning and help you to better understand its aims and principles. You will be guided to use child-led moments to create next steps and enhance children’s learning and development and provide some tips on embedding child-led practice at your setting.
A child-centred approach encourages children to take learning into their own hands, rather than being directed or prompted by an early years educator. Children take responsibility for making choices about what they will learn and explore. Educators listen for cues and watch interests develop to create an appropriate curriculum for each individual.
- The aim of this course is to support professionals working with early years children to gain or develop the knowledge and skills required to support children by allowing them to lead in play.
- On completion, you should have the building blocks to implement quality teaching and learning practices and to meet the related EYFS requirements.
This training course is broken down into 3 sections
